An Amateur Softball Association/USA Softball Member League

“The Official Home of the Bay State Sharks Girls Fastpitch Travel Teams!”

Bourne Youth Girls Softball (BYGS) is a community based in-town non-profit, volunteer organization designed to provide an opportunity for all interested players to participate in both an organized recreational and competitive travel programs based on fundamentals, skill development, and teamwork. Our mission will work to foster self-esteem, good sportsmanship, social well being, community spirit and leadership. BYGS is a member of the ASA/USA Softball of Massachusetts, which governs Junior Olympic (J.O.) Softball, and PONY Fastpitch Softball. Through these memberships, it participates in the Cape Cod Canal League and the Cape Cod Girls Softball League, along with ASA and PONY tournaments throughout the Northeast area including the States and the Regionals. Player development is directed toward high school participation and beyond.

In order to help achieve these objectives, we have established three programs to accommodate the various age groups within the league. We provide an Instructional League for girls in Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades, a Minor League for girls in grades 3 - 5, and a Major League for girls in grades 6 - 8. We also offer a summer traveling program for 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U age divisions. Use the links on the left to learn more about our programs and sponsors, find information for players and coaches, locate a field, or look up a league contact.
